Building on the success of their live dealer Infinite Blackjack, Evolution Gaming have released Free Bet Blackjack, an add-on to the multiplayer game that gives you free bets on selected double downs and split bets. The game is played in exactly the same way as the Infinite version, except you now get an automatic response when you can place a free bet.
How the Game Works
If you know how to play Blackjack, converting to the Free Bet version is quite simple. For those who are not familiar with the multiplayer live game, the setup is a little different to traditional live games.
In this version, there is no limit to the number of players that can join the table. After you log on and place your bets, the dealer will deal two cards, one at a time on the table. These cards then disappear from the table and get loaded as digital cards on your screen. The dealer’s cards are dealt on the table and stay in view at all time, one facing up, the other facing down.
Every player logged into the game can play whatever hand they like, Sticking, Splitting, Hitting, or Doubling Down.
Free Double Downs and Free Splits
The Free Bet version follows standard online Blackjack rules where you have the choice of Standing with the hand you have been dealt, Hitting, Splitting or Doubling Down. Normally, if you Split your hand, you would incur a separate bet for the additional hand. In this version, you get a free Split on any pair (with the exception of 10’s). This option automatically comes up without you having to think about it. Simply click yes or no on the option.
Free Bet Blackjack also gives you free bets when you want to Double Down. Again, this is only for certain hard-total hands. If your initial hand two-card hand comes to a hard total of 9, 10, or 11, you will automatically get a free Double Down bet. Normally you would have put in double your stake to make this bet, but here, it’s free.
Side Bets and Six Card Charlie
If you know how to play online Blackjack games, you may be familiar with Evolution Gaming’s selection of side bets. The Free Bet version comes with four additional side bets as well as the Six Card Charlie rule. The side bets are optional and can be placed at the start of any round. These include a bet on Any Pair, Hot 3, 21+3 and Bust It. The addition of the Six Card Charlie rule means that you automatically get paid out if you make a hand of 6 cards totalling 21 or under.
Free Bet Blackjack is ideal for both novices and experienced players. Because it is a multiplayer game, you never have to wait for an open seat, and you get to choose the way you play from the start. The best part is that you can Double Down or Split your hand for free and get notified when this is possible.
